Daylight saving time starts in Fiji on October 21st

Jone Usamate, Fiji's Minister for Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment, has confirmed that Fiji will move to daylight saving time on Sunday 21 October 2012.^[1]

Under the Cabinet's decision, clocks will go forward one hour at 02:00, to 03:00, Mr Usamate said. He also encouraged Fijians and visitors to make the most of daylight saving time.

Mr Usamate added that daylight saving time gives families and individuals more personal and family time in daylight.

Fiji will return to standard time at 03:00 on Sunday 20 January 2013, when the clocks go back one hour to 02:00.

Update, 26 October 2026: Fiji has not used daylight saving time since the summer of 2020/2021; it now keeps UTC+12 all year.^[2][3]
