Jordan canceled all year round DST
On 24 October 2012, Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour's government decided to use daylight saving time all year round.[1] In autumn 2013 the government decided to continue the experiment for at least one more year. However, public opinion was against it.
At the beginning of December, the Jordan Nurses and Midwives Association (JNMA) and the Jordan Teachers Association (JTA) each asked the government to switch back to standard time.
On Wednesday 11 December 2013, the government decided to switch back to standard time, in response to calls from the public and civil society organizations.
Jordan will turn its clocks back to winter time at midnight between Thursday 19 and Friday 20 December 2013.[1]
Jordan's standard time is UTC+2 and its daylight saving time is UTC+3.
Update, 25 October 2026: Since 28 October 2022, Jordan keeps UTC+3 all year and no longer changes its clocks.[2] See also: Jordan stays on summer time through winter 2012/2013.
